If you’re wondering if you can trust that this is legit…here’s just a little bit of how I came to know all the ups and downs of pregnancy after loss.
We were lucky enough to have 4 living children and a 5th on the way when just days before her due date we heard those most devastating words: “there is no heartbeat.”
With a brand new crib and carseat and the strong desire to hold a living baby, we were heartbroken and also hoped for another baby. We got our wish and spent the first year of grief going through a deja vu pregnancy, terrified most of the time, until our son was born just weeks after our angel baby’s birthday.
Fast forward and we were able to get pregnant again. All was great at the 11 week ultrasound. We told our kids and family at 12 weeks. At 14 weeks….no heartbeat again.
A while later, against all odds given my medical and grief history, we were pregnant with what I knew would be our final baby, no matter what the outcome. We had a lot of care and a lot of checkups and some complications but our baby was born healthy at 35 weeks.
I’ve ridden the rollercoaster. I’ve struggled and I’ve figured out what works. That’s why I want to help you. These journal prompts are the first step to enjoying this pregnancy.
Now, put in your email, go buy a cute new journal, and let’s do this together.
